Researching bodily perceptions in relation to creative processes. Recognizing personal presence quality, gesture and movement and working further with it to create short performance statements.
The practice explores information about physiological, anatomical and developmental aspects of the body. Based on somatic movement topics such as: development of human movement, the special senses, connective tissues, skeletal system and reflexes we prepare the body and mind to investigate personal skills in performance, movement and presence.
Experiencing different body layers and structures, investigating sensorial feedback and communication processes between the brain and the rest of the body. This work opens up new possibilities for development of a personal vocabulary in movement and an embodied presence for any kind of performance work. Consisting of: movement exercises, theoretical approach, improvisation, intervision and reflection.
Participants are invited to bring issues they would like to work during the Worksession, which can range from purely physical issues to questions on how to apply this kind of practice in their performance, creative or teaching works.
